$57,000 OTF Grant Renews Near North Trail Association
North Bay, ON – On Friday, MPP Vic Fedeli took part in an online meeting with representatives from the Near North Trail Association to celebrate the successful completion of the work done thanks to a $57,000 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The grant, awarded last year, was used to rebuild and recover from the impacts of COVID-19 by developing and implementing a core strategic plan for the Association, stabilizing and diversifying revenue streams and strengthening its operational capacity. The project was completed in July and will give people in the community improved access to programs and services in the region.
“The Near North Trail Association is valued part of our community as they increase recreational opportunities for the people that live here and draw tourists to the area to experience our extensive snowmobile trail system,” said Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing. “The Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Community Funding has provided the Association with financial relief so they can recover from the impacts of COVID-19 by developing and implementing a core strategic plan and increased their volunteer and training opportunities.”
In addition to the implementation of the districts inaugural strategic plan, the Association redeveloped its website. The new website will act as a hub for members to access resources, provide information to the community, recruit volunteers, and generate additional revenue streams.
"The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be overstated, as a non-profit organization formalizing the strategic process is instrumental to guiding the organization into the future,” said Jessica Reynolds, District Manager of the Near North Trail Association. “This grant has allowed much needed improvements and updates to be made to both our internal systems and public facing products. The NNTA has positioned itself to adapt and accommodate the changing business climate and serve our community better. We also want to congratulate the Ontario Trillium Foundation on 40 years of granting and building healthy and vibrant communities across the province.”
The NNTA is committed to providing safe and exceptional experiences on the snow. We strive to maintain and enhance snowmobiling and promote the region as a premier winter tourism destination. If you wish to learn more about our services or volunteer, please visit the website at: www.nnta.ca.
