Bonfield Snowmobile Club
The Bonfield Snowmobile Club is one of Northern Ontario’s oldest clubs, dating back to 1969 and was formed in order to provide an opportunity for members to get together and socialize, while doing something they loved.
The Bonfield Snowmobile Club area consists of approximately 150 km of groomed trails. BSC has 8 bridges on our trails, the longest is 85 ft and the shortest is 24 ft. The highest point on the trail is 1250 ft above sea level and the lowest point is 900 ft above sea level. There are 6 ice crossings as follows: Lake Talon, Sheedy Lake, La Chapelle Lake, Turtle Lake, Lake Nosbonsing and Trout Lake.
BSC trails are groomed on a regular basis, depending on the amount of existing and new snowfall. The average grooming season is approximately 14 weeks in length, which equates to hundreds of grooming hours per year, thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers.
A must ride in Bonfield club territory is the Explorer’s Snow Tour, one of the official OFSC snow tours! The Explorer’s tour is a 234 km route with 10 incredible points of interest featuring historic, geological, and mythical information. Check out this video of Alexis Outdoor’s recent trip! This tour makes for a great weekend get away, stay over in North Bay or head to Mattawa.
Conveniently located along the HWY 17 Corridor between North Bay and Mattawa, there are many places to access Bonfield trails. Check out the local Dinner Bell Restaurant & Motel off the BF201 or stop in at Sampon’s for your service and parts needs. BSC is welcoming growth, partnership, and all visitors to the area!
